AOpen has announced the first Small Form Factor (SFF) PCs based on the i855GME chipset for the Intel Pentium-M.

The release of EY855-II XC Cube follows
AOpen's release of the world's first desktop motherboard based on Socket 479
Intel Pentium M CPU, the i855GMEm-LFS in late November. The new 855 Pentium M
product fuses unmatched computing performance, ultra silence and low power
consumption expected from high-end laptop with a sleek, classic desktop worthy
of any user.

"AOpen is proud to be the first to cater to consumers with a line of
powerful customizable products that offer a perfect combination of
exhilarating performance, low power consumption and ultra silence," said James
Chen, the XC Cube product manager of AOpen. "Our compact, stylish PCs deliver
unmatched entertainment enjoyment for unparalleled user experience."

The AOpen EY855-II XC Cube supports Pentium M processors up to 2.0GHz,
with a 400-533MHz FSB and 2GB of DDR333 memory. The Pentium M processor
consumes only 40 watts, unlike its predecessor the Intel LGA775 Pentium 4
which consumed roughly 160 watts. The new chip design generates less heat and
needs much less cooling, resulting in quieter operation -- a feature highly
advantageous to SFF PCs.

The EY855-II XC Cube is equipped with a high-quality ultra silent CPU
cooler which eliminates annoying cooler noise. The average speed of the
equipped cooler is roughly 2000rpm, emitting a mere 22~24 dB, a 40 percent
reduction in noise level compared to a P4 processor running at 37 dB. The
product also supports a full range of expansion interfaces including USB2.0
ports, IEEE1394 connectors, AGP 4X graphics slot and PCI slot onboard,
offering users flexible scalability for future upgrades.

The AOpen EY855-II XC Cube is available through AOpen Authorized Resellers
throughout North America starting at approximately $320.00.
