It's the product recall season. Microsoft are doing it with Xbox cables and now Nintendo are replacing all the Play-Yan multimedia adapters already sold in Japan for the DS.

Apparently the left and right audio channels are reversed, which isn't quite in the league of burning game consoles, but is probably very annoying once you've noticed it.

The fault has now been corrected and Nintendo will be shipping replacement Play-Yans on March 5.

MediaCenterPCWorld.com had only reported this morning that Nintendo was planning on releasing movies on DS compatible cartridges, so we have both good and bad news for the console from a portable media center point of view.
