D-Link, a global leader in consumer network connectivity, today at Microsoft's Digital Entertainment Anywhere launch event announced that its D-Link AirPremier AG Wireless Router is among the first wireless networking devices to earn Microsoft certification for the new Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 logo.

This Microsoft certification guarantees compatibility of D-Link routers that carry the Media Center Edition 2005 logo across computers running Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005, devices and Windows Media Center Extender technology.

The Microsoft certification and accompanying logo validates that the D-Link AirPremier router (DI-784) has been tested extensively with Media Center Edition 2005 and upcoming Media Center Extender technology, and that the D-Link 802.11a/b/g wireless router meets the highest standard of quality and compatibility.

"Reliable and powerful wireless networking is a key component of our vision for delivering digital entertainment anywhere throughout the home," said Kevin Unangst, director of Windows consumer marketing for Microsoft Corp. "Today's release of Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 and D-Link's exciting new products deliver on that vision."

"Earning the Microsoft Media Center Edition 2005 certification is a testament to our engineering staff and underscores our ability to build seamless network connectivity for consumers in the connected home," said Steven Joe, President and CEO of D-Link. "Our wireless networking creates a powerful, yet unseen platform inside a home enabling families to stream music, videos and other entertainment options to any television or PC throughout the digital home."
