The Nova-t 500, available immediately, is the perfect upgrade for Windows Media Center PCs, says Hauppauge, and is forward compatible with Microsoft Windows Vista, which will include media capabilities in its home user versions. The new card uses the latest silicon tuners to provide enhanced picture quality, faster scanning and operation, and lower power consumption. Included with the Nova-t 500 is Hauppauge's own TV viewing software, allowing any Windows XP user to watch and record TV, access a 7-day programme guide (EPG). Also included is a remote control. "This is the perfect TV card for media PCs, such as those running Windows Media Center, Power Cinema, MythTV, Sage TV or the upcoming Windows Vista," said Yehia Oweiss, VP of European Sales for Hauppauge Digital. "Two tuners are essential in these types of PCs, allowing simultaneous reception of two channels and for the first time a single product provides two digital Freeview tuners so you can watch one channel while recording another." Copy programmes to PSPs and iPods!The Nova-t 500 includes Hauppauge's WingSE software, which enables recorded TV to be transferred onto Sony PSP devices and video iPods. The software optimises the recordings to save space on the target device, whilst utilising its maximum display capabilities.
