If you are looking for a Media Center Extender, but don't own an Xbox, skip out on the Xbox Extender and get a dedicated Media Center Extender: They aren't perfect either, but they are silent, perform better, can be powered up and down via a remote, and include remote controls that are compatible with other Media Center equipment.

If your world is entirely based off of Microsoft content, then the Extender is natural extension of this world. If it's a mixed hybrid of media from all over (and most of us are of this type), then you need to seriously think about the pros and cons of the Extender for the Xbox.
